NMHC Announces Kickoff to Blue Star Museums Program
Program runs through Labor Day 2010
On Monday, May 31, local museum representatives came together at the National MIlitary History Center to announce the commencement of the Blue Star Museums program. Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, the program allows participating organizations to offer admission to active duty military and their immediate families at no cost.
"We feel honored and humbled to participate in such a worthy cause," said NMHC Executive Director Robert Krafft. "It's a small act of thankfulness, but it's the least we could do for those who put their lives on the line every day. As part of our mission as a museum, we want to honor the people who maintain our everyday freedoms, and this is one simple way we can do so. I think I speak for all involved when I say this is just one small way to show our gratitude."
